We have received several requests to provide a quick overview of the various companies that sell mobility scooters. Therefore we have put a list of information together and will continue to add and update it. Please note that this information is subject to change, and does not constitute an endorsement. We put this list together to try and make it easier for you to get an idea of the different companies.

There are a variety of companies that offer mobility solutions for those with limited mobility. With the increasing popularity of the Internet, most of these companies now have Web sites that can allow you to easily learn about their mobility services.
Some of these Web sites offer mobility consultations so that you can quickly get an idea of the financial coverage that you can qualify for. These phone consultations are invaluable, as they save you several hours of time and frustration trying to figure out the web of coverage yourself. Some companies even offer to do all the paperwork for you!

The Scooter store is America's leading supplier of mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs. The Scooter store was founded in 1991 and is located in New Braunfels, Texas.
The Scooter store has a number of retail store locations and a Web site located at www.thescooterstore.com
The Web site is very well laid out and easy to navigate. There is a lot of helpful information about mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs. It is also quite informative about medicare policies on mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs. I found that the answers to all of my quesitons were easily found on the Web site.

The new Medicare Plan D Prescription Drug Coverage Program has created a lot of confusion. But there are five basic questions where you need to know the answers. Here are those questions and answers.
Who can join this Medicare prescription Drug plan?
Medicare says that everyone over 65 who has the Original Medicare Plan, a Medicare Private Fee-for-Service Plan that doesn't offer prescription drug coverage, or a Medicate Cost Plan, can join a Medicare Plan D in their area.

Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs (sometimes called power chairs) can be expensive. Medicare Part B usually covers around 80% of the cost of electric wheelchairs. This coverage falls under "Durable Medical Equipment".

No Pain. No Gain - is so not the rule for good senior health and fitness!
For seniors who already have pain that they are trying to heal, the prospect of purposefully adding even more pain and discomfort makes taking physical exercise seem like a bad joke and totally unreasonable.
